Arborist Consultation
A walk of your property, and a plan for what's actually on it.
Not a generic maintenance schedule. A plan built for the specific trees you have, the ground they're in, and what's growing nearby.
Chapter 01
A walk of the property.
Before anything gets a recommendation, someone walks the property with you and looks at what's actually there: which trees are healthy, which ones need attention soon, and which ones are fine to leave alone. That walk turns into a management plan written for your trees specifically, not a generic maintenance calendar copied from the last job.
It costs nothing to have that conversation. Evaluations are free, done on site, and we can usually get one scheduled within a week.

Forest management.
Some of the properties around the lake are more than a yard: a wooded lot, a stretch of shoreline, several acres backing onto a neighbour's land. For those, the conversation moves from single trees to the woods as a whole, what should come out, what should be thinned, and what should be left standing to keep growing.
The same crew that grinds a stump in a backyard is the one that works a larger property, so forest management doesn't mean a different company or a different standard of work.
Chapter 03
Choosing the right tree for the spot.
Planting the wrong tree in the wrong place is a problem you don't see for ten years, by which time it's a mature tree fighting a foundation, a power line, or a septic field. We look at the site, the soil, and how big the tree will actually get, not just how it looks in a five gallon pot.
We'll also ask you a plainer question: how much upkeep you're willing to commit to. A tree that needs yearly pruning to stay clear of the roofline is a different decision than one that will look after itself, and that's worth knowing before you plant, not after.
Highly recommend Colt Tree Service! They respond quickly to your inquiries. They are ethical and reasonably priced. The work they do is amazing and, other than your trees looking fabulous, you can't tell they've been on your property! We've used them twice in the past 5 years and had an amazing experience both times. (Angie DeMoss, Google review)
